Preston Ross III

CONTRACTOR

Preston Ross III founded the nonprofit The Great Raleigh Cleanup in 2020. A native of Chicago, and resident of Raleigh for the last 20+ years, he saw one of the problems a growing Raleigh was presenting: a lot more litter. From one man at its start to four years later, TGRC has removed 160,000 pounds of trash from the landscape, diverted 34,000 pounds of metal from landfills to be recycled and coordinated more than 1,600 volunteers contributing 11,000 volunteer hours to the cause of a cleaner Raleigh. Preston has now contracted with Sound Rivers and the City of Raleigh to manage and maintain two of Sound Rivers’ trash traps on Marsh Creek in Raleigh. Thank you, Preston, for your efforts to keep NC waterways litter-free!
