Sound Rivers attends environmental justice summit

On Oct. 15-16, Sound Rivers Executive Director Heather Deck and Pamlico-Tar Riverkeeper Jill Howell joined environmental leaders from across the state to attend the North Carolina Environmental Justice Network Reunion. Held at the Franklinton Center at Bricks in Whitakers, the event — “Remembering, Recovering, Resisting, Reimagining” — was NCEJN’s 23rd annual summit and the first to be held back in person since the coronavirus pandemic.
