It’s take-back time again! Law enforcement across the state is hosting drug take-back events this weekend, including in the Neuse and Tar-Pamlico watersheds. Headed up by the DEA, Take Back Day is an opportunity to get rid of medications of any type — people medication, pet medication, expired, unused, unwanted, etc. — to keep them from being inappropriately used or inappropriately disposed of. When medications are flushed down toilets or thrown away, those pharmaceuticals will likely in up in your waterways at some point.
It’s a great opportunity to give your medicine cabinet a good spring cleaning and protect your waterways!
At drop off, no names, no questions are asked. All events are on Saturday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
