Volunteer Coordinator Emily Fritz chats with longtime volunteer Dawn Dolson.
Last week, longtime Washington-area volunteers gathered at Pitt Street Brewing on the Pamlico for Sound Rivers’ Volunteer Appreciation Night.
Previously, similar events were held in Raleigh and New Bern.
“We had a really good turnout — a lot of volunteers for Swim Guide, in general. Many of the folks in the Washington area already know each other, so that was nice to see them catching up,” said Volunteer Coordinator Emily Fritz.
Emily hosted the event with Pamlico-Tar Riverkeeper Katey Zimmerman and Development Coordinator Jay Potter.
