When it comes to citizens taking matters into their own hands, we applaud a group of Falls Lake fans who took the initiative to clean up “Hippie Beach” where others trashed it. Sound Rivers’ member Paul Michelle reached out to Neuse Riverkeeper Samantha Krop two weeks ago, after he saw plenty of garbage littering the beach at New Light and Ghoston roads. When he later returned to the lake, he brought garbage bags and a few like-minded friends with him.
Thank you, Paul and friends, for helping to keep our waterways trash-free!
