Have you ever wanted to put on your “citizen scientist” hat?
Are you looking for a way YOU can help protect the Neuse and Tar-Pamlico?
Are your Thursday mornings free?
If you answered yes to these questions, YOU can be a Water-Quality Hero!
We’re lining everything up for a ninth year of Swim Guide, Sound Rivers’ program that lets you know where it’s safe to swim all summer long … and we’ve got some sites that need coverage!
What does it take? It’s easy: go to an assigned site near you, collect a water sample, fill out a short form with basic info and drop your sample off with Sound Rivers to test for bacteria. Results from that test will be shared with everyone across the Neuse and Tar-Pamlico watersheds!
It’s a small sample, and a simple process, that has a huge impact: real information about the health of your waterways. Join the Sound Rivers Swim Guide team today! Email Volunteer Coordinator Emily Fritz at emily@soundrivers.org.
