Sound Rivers staff attends rain garden workshop

Sound Rivers Program Director Clay Barber, Stormwater Education Coordinator Sierra Stickney and Development Coordinator Jay Potter joined North Carolina State University Area Specialized Extension Agent Mitch Woodward for a workshop on everything rain garden on Thursday. The hands-on experience was an introduction to the principles of rain garden location, construction and maintenance; how to properly design and size rain gardens and other best management practices, how to select appropriate vegetation; and how to design, build and plant a small rain garden. The class was held at Jones County Civic Center in Trenton.
