LITTER-FREE: Many thanks to new Sound Rivers volunteers and members Miriam Bridges and Tom Bayley for pitching in to the effort to keep your rivers litter-free. After a big rain, the couple witnessed trash piling up in a “natural trash trap” at the Anderson Point Park bridge near the mouth of Crabtree Creek on the Neuse River Trail. When the water level dropped enough, they sprang into action: there were “lots of plastic bottles and Styrofoam. Pictures hardly do it justice. We filled many bags of trash that will never make it to the Neuse River or ocean.” Thank you, Miriam and Tom!
