Posted on March 5th, 2026
DIRTY WATER: Program Director Clay Barber happened to catch this image of sediment flowing into Maple Creek on a recent visit to Rocky Mount. A nearby construction site appeared to be the source of the sediment being carried by stormwater into the tributary of the Tar River. Clay alerted Pamlico-Tar Riverkeeper Katey Zimmerman, who is now looking into the issue.
