Riverkeeper spotlight: WKA organizer gets Neuse tour
Posted on July 13th, 2022

On the River: On Tuesday, Pamlico-Tar Riverkeeper Jill Howell and her First Mate, Miller, took Patience Burke, Waterkeeper Alliance Gulf and South Atlantic Regional Organizer, and her family (Carolina and Preston not pictured) out on the Neuse River for a paddle, launching out of Martin Marietta Park in New Bern. This quality time had plenty of company: lots of jumping mullet, bass, baby osprey, rough green snakes and turtles, against a backdrop of cypress trees and Spanish moss. (Much to Patience’s dismay, there were no alligator sightings.)
