The clear water of Walnut Creek greeted trash trap installers on Jan. 16.
The City of Raleigh has launched a trash-trap-naming contest for the recently installed trash trap on Walnut Creek, near Lake Johnson. Sound Rivers’ crew teamed up with Lake Johnson Park staff to install the trash trap in January.
“The naming contest for the Lake Johnson trash trap is now live, and I could not be more excited,” said Sound Rivers Volunteer Coordinator Emily Fritz. “The trash traps are there to serve the community and help keep our creeks cleaner for all, so it only makes sense to let everyone in the community have a chance to name our newest trap!”
