Pamlico Paddle: Testing kayaks

Sound Rivers, Water Trail

Posted on October 5th, 2021

PAMLICO PADDLE UPDATE: OCT. 5

THE ADVENTURE BEGINS: Meet First Mate and Adventure Pup Miller as he, Jill, Clay hit the river, testing kayaks on the Pamlico and trying to figure out which ones will be best for wind, waves, wide water and, of course, Miller. Five days and more than 70 miles on open water need the right kayaks! The adventure begins with planning, as Jill and Clay learned last year during the 10-day Tour de Tar, from Oxford to Washington. This adventure will bring its own unique challenges, quite different from the ones the two faced last year.

Miller wasn’t all that excited about the touring kayak…
