Pamlico-Tar Riverkeeper Katey Zimmerman spread the Sound Rivers word with Granville County gardeners in the upper Tar River watershed last Saturday. On site at the Granville Gardeners Expo, Katey said it was a full day of great conversations.
“I was pleasantly surprised there were a few people I talked to had already heard of Sound Rivers,” she said. “Around Oxford, the big issue is turbidity, because of all the increased development in the area. There was a lot of excitement that I was there, and it sounded like everyone is pretty aware of water-quality impacts of the new developments being built.”
