HF Lee Coal Ash Ponds Public Meeting

Speak up for your community!The NC Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will hold a public meeting in each county with a coal ash facility on the draft proposed classifications released Dec. 31, 2015. At each meeting, DEQ will explain the draft proposed classifications and receive comments from the public.

NCDEQ is hosting this hearing to determine whether leaking, unlined coal ash pits will be fully cleaned up or left leaching into groundwater and our rivers. We need your help to speak out for clean water. Below you’ll find more information on the hearing.
