Sound Rivers’ Neuse Riverkeeper Samantha Krop and Volunteer Coordinator Emily Fritz will have a table at the inaugural “Tick Bite Regatta” at the 52nd-annual Grifton Shad Festival in downtown Grifton. This canoe and kayak race is a simple loop from the new kayak launch at the Grifton boat access. Sam and Emily will be there to share lots of great information about our work and cheer on the participants of this all-in-good-fun, winner-gets-braggin’-rights race, so come on by! For those who’d like to take part in the regatta, participants must bring their own boats, wear PFDs and sign a waiver.
