Tell Me About It Tuesdays: Plastic Problems

Sound Rivers’ new monthly virtual science series continues on October 13th, hosted by your Lower Neuse Riverkeeper, Katy Hunt, and Dr. Barbara Doll from NC State University. They’ll discuss plastic in your waterways, what problems it’s causing, and what we can do about it. And you can join the discussion from the comfort of your home! Dr. Barbara Doll is a licensed professional engineer with over 20 years of experience in ecological restoration. She teaches professional development workshops and academic courses in fluvial geomorphology and ecological restoration. She has secured and managed more than $7 million in external funding to implement water quality and restoration demonstration projects and conduct research at NC State University. She has conducted design, permitting, bidding and construction oversight for several restoration projects in this role. She obtained and managed $8.5 in funding between 1998 and 2011 for restoration of 6000 feet of highly degraded urban channel.
