Moriah Energy Center Creek Walk

Neuse Riverkeeper use the YSI to take readings of a stream that flows from the land proposed for the Moriah Energy Center.
Join Neuse Riverkeeper Samantha Krop for a walk through a creek next to the proposed Moriah Energy Center near Oxford in Person County. In partnership with the NOMEC coalition, the goal of this creek walk is to explore a creek that would be impacted by the construction of Dominion’s proposed Moriah Energy Center LNG storage facility. We’ll talk with local community members and organizers with the NOMEC campaign about the reasons the community oppose this project, what impacts we are concerned about in creeks downstream from the construction site, and what folks can do to join the fight against this unnecessary and destructive fossil fuel project.
