Though black sediment fencing is designed to prevent soils from running off into Lick Creek, it is apparently not working, as shown by the creek's bright orange color.
The public has a chance to weigh in on future development laid out in Durham’s City/County Comprehensive Plan at a special joint city-county public hearing on Aug. 31. Development in the Lick Creek watershed (currently being most heavily developed) will be discussed.
The joint public hearing will be held Thursday, Aug. 31, at 7 p.m. The agenda and how to join the meeting virtually via Zoom can be found here.
