Artist, supporter wins Sound Rivers award at annual fine arts show
Posted on December 10th, 2020
Congratulations to Lynn Hines, winner of the Sound Rivers award at Arts of the Pamlico’s 56th-annual Fine Arts Show.
Lynn and husband Bill are long-time Sound Rivers supporters who live in Oriental. Lynn’s generosity extends to regularly donating her artwork for sale or auction to Sound Rivers’ and other nonprofits’ fundraisers.
Each year, Sound Rivers sponsors the Fine Arts Show award, which is given to the entry that best expresses the river as a valuable asset. This year, the award went to Lynn’s painting, “Fishing Splendor,” a watercolor of fishing trawlers docked at sunset.
“I am living the dream to be able to support the nonprofits I love through my art,” Lynn wrote in an email to Sound Rivers Executive Director Heather Deck.
The Fine Arts Show is on display at Arts of the Pamlico’s Turnage Theatre in downtown Washington throughout the month of December. Hours of operation are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays; 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays; and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.
