Members of Wake Audubon Society celebrate a successful trash trap cleanout.
A crew of Wake Audubon Society members descended on the Little Rock Creek trash trap last week, removing 60.4 pounds of trash from the trap and creek.
The Little Rock Creek trash trap, located on the grounds of the Walnut Creek Wetland Center in Raleigh, was the third trash trap installed as part of Sound Rivers’ Litter-Free Rivers program. The Litter-Free Rivers fleet now numbers 11, with traps located on urban waterways in Raleigh, Clayton, Tarboro, Greenville, New Bern and Washington.

Many thanks to Wake Audubon Society for adopting the Little Rock Creek trash trap!
