New Bern Screening of "New Trouble on the Neuse"

Event Date: September 19, 2019 - 6:00pm to 7:30pm

Join your Lower Neuse Riverkeeper Katy Hunt for a screening of the “New Trouble on the Neuse” documentary from WRAL and Bill Leslie.

“New Trouble on the Neuse” comes almost 30 years after reporter Bill Leslie’s original documentary, which prompted bipartisan support for protection of the Neuse River. Three decades later, those studying and working to protect the river take a look at how it’s doing. Their verdict? Not good.
After the short documentary the public will have a chance to ask questions and hear from Lower Neuse Riverkeeper Katy Hunt, activist Rick Dove, Professor Joanne Burkholder, scientist Doug Rader with Environmental Defense Fund, Nathan Hall of UNC Institute of Marine Sciences, as well as reporter Bill Leslie.
Join us for an evening of conversation about protecting the waterways we love. We will have refreshments in the lobby following the event.
