Help one of our East Carolina University partners learn more about the flow of rivers in eastern North Carolina and get a chance to win one of 10, $25 gift cards in a drawing!
Jaclyn Best is a PhD candidate at ECU who is working on a research project to understand the ecological flows of rivers in eastern North Carolina.
Ecological flows are the amounts of stream flow that maintain communities of aquatic plants and animals. When flows in rivers near the coast decrease to low amounts, that can threaten the survival of aquatic plants and animals that live in and around the river, causing salty seawater to flow upstream, as well as algal blooms and low oxygen in the water.
Jaclyn and her team are conducting a survey of water users and residents in eastern North Carolina to understand their preferences and perceptions in determining ecological flows and potential guidance to maintain ecological flows.
The survey should take approximately 20 minutes and responses are anonymous.
At the end of the survey, you will be directed to a link to be entered in a drawing to win one of 10, $25 gift cards. Your contact information for the gift cards will not be tied to your survey responses.
If you have any questions or concerns about the survey, you are welcome to contact Jacklyn at: Bestj20@students.ecu.edu.
