Description

Barber Creek, Greenville vicinity — This newly renovated platform is located on Barber Creek, a small tributary of the Tar River just one mile downstream of Greenville’s Port Terminal Wildlife Resources Commission boat ramp. As you leave the hustle and bustle of Greenville behind you, paddlers will  have great wildlife viewing opportunities and serene evenings in this quiet, bottomland hardwood site. During normal to low river levels, numerous sandbars can be found along this stretch of the river between Greenville and Washington. Just a few miles downstream, you will encounter Rainbow Bank on the south side of the river, a fascinating geological highlight now protected with a permanent conservation easement.
