Description

The McMullen Platform, site donated by the City of Washington, NC, is the closest of our Beaufort County platforms to downtown Washington. Situated just upstream from Bridge St. in Washington, this platform provides a wonderful stay close to the city. You can put in at Mason’s Landing on Tranters Creek or Havens Gardens and have a nice day paddle and stop for lunch. Through paddlers can enjoy the beautiful view of the Washington Waterfront and the last of the Tar River before it becomes the Pamlico. For day or overnight paddlers, the closest upstream put-in is Mason’s Landing on Tranters Creek and the closest downstream take-out is Havens Gardens. The platform is 16′ by 32′ and half of it is enclosed with a roof and screened-in area for those buggy or rainy nights. All sites are only accessible by water.
