Sound Rivers Staff

Katrina Borgen

Water-quality Intern

Katrina Borgen comes to Sound Rivers from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill. Kat is originally from Germanton, North Carolina, and is a rising senior majoring in environmental science. She hopes to use her degree to help preserve and protect North Carolina’s waterways and conduct research on their ecology. Her internship with Sound Rivers is a step in that direction, she said.

“I hope to be able to learn more about the rivers and watersheds in North Carolina, and learn more about how a real-world job in environmental science may operate. I also hope that, while I am here for a few short months, I can help provide awareness and educate the public about issues our rivers may be facing, and be a part of an effort to make a difference,” Kat said.

Kat is working out of the New Bern office.
