Blounts Creek Boat Rally & Parade
September 30, 2017 @ 1:00 PM
How to participate in the rally parade and what to expect:
Gather early on the northwest side of the Blounts Creek bridge and keep the channel clear while waiting. Map of this location.
Music starts at 12:30 provided by longtime supports of our Pamlico waters, The Flatland Zingers (Linda Boyer & Rob Cuthrell). They will be boat roaming around with their lively music.
Opening remarks by the Executive Director of Sound Rivers, Heather Jacobs, will start the Rally with opening remarks dockside at the Whites’s home (yellow house facing into the bridge bay area). Following Opening remarks the Riverkeeper (recognizable by the name on the boat) will lead the parade with the rest of the watercraft falling in behind. It will be a slow ride into Blounts Creek ending just past Cotton Patch Marina.
Please keep safety in mind as you go down the creek, look for other watercraft that may be near you, etc.
Bring your signs and your voices to tell Martin Marietta NOT to destroy our waterway
All those who support our rivers and those participating in the Blounts Creek boat rally parade either as a spectator or as a watercraft participant(s).
